THEMATIC SECTION: Youth participation in restrictive institutional and social contexts: better understanding their experiences and intervention practices

2025-07-26

In a joint initiative with the Canadian journal Travail social with the aim of understanding the experiences of children and young people participating in restrictive institutional and social contexts, as well as the strategies they implement to circumvent, challenge, and transform these restrictions, seeking to contribute to the development of new knowledge about participation in restrictive contexts or institutions, we invite proposals for articles that explore—from a critical perspective—issues related to both the contexts of participation and structural and institutional limitations, as well as experiences, practices, and strategies for participation in such restrictive contexts.

Contributions —whether quantitative, qualitative, or mixed— must meet the criteria outlined in the Guidelines for Authors available on our website, be original and unpublished, and be written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Deadline for receiving articles through the journal's virtual platform is March 30, 2026.
