Abstract

This paper approaches the development and evolution of cognitive therapies from the perspective of the evolution of the history of ideas concerning the mind, from a more passive view towards a motor conception of the mind to which constructivist approaches ascribe to. The ways in which these developments have affected the evolution of Chilean therapeutic models, as well as how contributions developed within Chilean scientific work have likewise contributed to the evolution of these ideas in terms of complexity, are described.
