In the framework of the 50th anniversary of the 1973 coup d'état in Chile, several commemorations were held to express the plurality of memories of the country's recent past. This paper deals with the commemorative act carried out in the National Stadium by the collective of people with disabilities CONADIS, consisting in the display of a canvas made by the members. From the Social Psychology of Memory, we can consider this act as the expression of "other" memories, generally excluded from the dominant memories. Through a discourse analysis of focus groups before and after the act, three main analytical axes are identified: 1) artistic intervention and speeches commemorating the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état from a disability perspective; 2) assessments of the canvas elaboration process; and 3) emerging elements of memory related to violations of the human rights of persons with disabilities. In conclusion, this study shows how the process of collective artistic creation and artistic intervention positions artivism as a form of political activism that allows people with disabilities to reclaim their place in society.Downloads
