“Porque no siento que esté trabajando”: relación educativa y participación adolescente en acogimiento residencial

La intervención desde el enfoque de derechos de la infancia y la adolescencia reconoce la participación como un principio fundamental, aunque su implementación en el acogimiento residencial sigue enfrentando importantes retos. En este contexto, la calidad de las relaciones educativas entre adolescentes y profesionales emerge como un elemento clave para comprender posibles oportunidades reales de participación. Este estudio analiza distintas dimensiones de la participación de adolescentes en acogimiento residencial y su relación con la percepción de escucha y comprensión por parte de las personas educadoras. Se adopta un diseño mixto explicativo secuencial con 83 adolescentes de hogares residenciales en Navarra (España), de los cuales 36 participaron en grupos de discusión. Los resultados evidencian una participación percibida como limitada, especialmente en los mecanismos formales, así como una diferencia relevante entre la experiencia de ser escuchado y la experiencia de ser comprendido. La comprensión se vincula de forma significativa con la percepción de que las sugerencias/quejas son tenidas en cuenta. Se concluye que la participación en acogimiento residencial no puede entenderse únicamente desde estructuras formales, sino que se construye en el marco de relaciones cotidianas basadas en la confianza, la validación emocional y el reconocimiento de la experiencia de los adolescentes.
