Family therapy evolved, in recent years, following both trends in psychology and psychotherapy, and changes in the way the family is lived and understood within our multicultural society. This article reviews the most important theoretical and practical models that have emerged in the last decade within the field, proposing, at the same time, a dialogical model for family therapy. Such a model would allow, on the one hand, a more active and aware role for family members in the therapeutic process, and, on the other, the possibility for the therapist to incorporate lessons from other models within his/her own, without renouncing to his/her professional identity.Downloads
