Abstract

Liberal feminism has been nurturing the Chilean State with the purpose of including women in the public arena. Considering this, this article intends to broadcast the perception that women have about their work experience within the framework of the liberal feminist movement. We conducted twelve interviews with public service employees, which highlighted the perception of lack of job stability as State employees, personal conflicts with women managers and gender-related managerial issues. We conclude that the liberal State has contributed to the reproduction of inequalities, since it operates under the traditional gender logic, in which women perceive that they move back and forth along a pathway between their productive and reproductive roles.
