About the Journal
Focus and scope
Psychoperspectives is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal that publishes original research in the fields of Psychology, Education, Cultural Studies, and the Social Sciences. Its mission is to foster dialogue between Psychology and other disciplines within the Social Sciences and the Humanities in order to advance knowledge that contributes to the critical understanding of contemporary social issues, their dynamics of change, and the possibilities for social transformation from diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives.
Manuscripts
We welcome and publish -free of charge- manuscripts in Spanish, English, or Portuguese. All manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words in total, meet the standards established by the APA Style of publication (7th Edition, 2020); and may be proposed for publication in a Thematic Section or as a Free Thematic Article.
Only original, unpublished articles that communicate results of qualitative, quantitative or mixed research; methodological articles that report the procedure of an empirical study; literature reviews developed under the criteria of the PRISMA Declaration, and systematization of interventions will be published.
We understand by “original and unpublished article” those documents elaborated by their authors and not previously published in any printed or digital media, whether or not it is a periodical publication. By “published” we mean that it has been made publicly available.
We do not publish: research that does not include a critical view of the topic it addresses; studies that do not evidence a dialogue between Psychology and Social Sciences; methodological articles focusing exclusively on the dataset; literature reviews that do not adhere to any of the protocols described in the PRISMA Declaration; articles that duplicate previous publications in preprints (ArXivs), conference proceedings, blogs, any other printed, digital or electronic media; theoretical essays; critical reflections; instrument validations; or articles based on experimental neurosciences methodologies.
Peer Review Policie
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening conducted by the editorial team. At this stage, manuscripts are assessed for their relevance to the journal's aims and scope, compliance with the Instructions for Authors, adherence to the APA Publication Manual (7th edition), overall quality of writing, and compliance with the journal's ethical publishing standards.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are submitted to at least two independent external reviewers with expertise in the relevant field through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate, among other aspects, the originality and significance of the manuscript, methodological rigor, quality of the analysis, consistency of the results and conclusions, the relevance and currency of the cited literature, and the manuscript's contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
Based on the reviewers' reports, the editorial team may decide to accept the manuscript, request minor or major revisions, or reject it. In cases where reviewers provide substantially conflicting recommendations, the journal may seek an additional independent review from a third external reviewer.
The final editorial decision rests with the editorial team, taking into consideration the reviewers' recommendations and the manuscript's compliance with the journal's editorial policies. Editors and reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that could compromise the objectivity of the peer review process.
