Padres satélite en los programas de protección a la infancia

Resumen

El rol de los padres en los servicios de protección de la infancia ha sido objeto de creciente atención a nivel internacional. La literatura muestra una falta sistemática de involucramiento de los padres en estas intervenciones, lo que ocasiona su invisibilidad y escasa representación, mientras que las mayormente convocadas son las madres. Este artículo analiza los resultados de un estudio cualitativo conducido en Chile, centrado en las construcciones discursivas de la parentalidad y sus implicancias de género. El análisis se basó en revisión de carpetas de casos y entrevistas a profesionales de tres organismos de protección infantil. Sobre la base de la identificación de ejes temáticos se analizó aspectos discursivos en la manera de articular las comprensiones de los casos. Los hallazgos revelan coincidencias con tendencias internacionales, pero también identifican un discurso específico que describe a los padres como "satélites", reflejando construcciones culturales que refuerzan la desigualdad de género. Este discurso contribuye a la exoneración de los padres respecto a situaciones de violencia y a la asignación desigual de responsabilidades parentales.
